    I saw Leira this morning for an initial consultation & was most impressed by her professionalism & very reassuring manner. As a mature person who neither plays sport nor runs, I have found in the past that some therapists are not a good fit for me. What a pleasure it is to meet someone who sees the individual.

    Having received very informative and helpful advice and exercises from Richard for a neck injury some while ago, I was confident to book at his clinic again for a leg muscle injury. This time the appointment was with Leira, who listened very carefully to my account of the symptoms and prescribed a helpful exercise regime, which she carefully explained and demonstrated. This was all very helpful and realistic. My follow up visit indicated improved strength and I was rewarded with some additional exercises. I feel confident that I'm in very good hands.

    I am so glad we found Richard! He has been helping my mum back on her feet after a fall and breaking her hip. Richard is very patient and caring but also makes sure you get the most out of every session. Completely trusting and local, I would recommend Richard and his clinic.

    I’ve known and trusted Leira for a number of years now both as a fitness instructor and a physiotherapist. In the recent months she’s been in physio mode on me for a MCL injury.     As a qualified and registered physiotherapist, Richard's knowledge, skill, experience and personality has quite simply transformed my life. For many many years I have experienced severe lower back pain and sciatica which was getting worse restricting my ability to walk any distance and undertake normal daily tasks. With great patience, Richard has worked with me to improve my confidence, strength and physical ability. He monitors how I undertake the tasks making sure I am always safe and gently encouraging me to work harder. I easily and frequently get distracted and Richard's professionalism, sense of humour and person centred approach helps to keep me focused and concentrating on the exercises. As a consequence of Richard's skill, patience and personality I no longer experience sciatica, my back pain has reduced considerably, I can walk for longer and faster and I can do more.     Richard Higgs, founder of Richard Higgs Physiotherapy, brings expert physiotherapy and sports massage services to Finney Lane Dental Care in Heald Green. As a fully registered physiotherapist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), Richard offers evidence-based treatment for a comprehensive range of conditions, injuries, and post-surgical care.

    I come from a background of health and fitness, starting working in a gym in late 2019. As I progressed through my health and fitness qualifications at the gym, I came to realise that these courses wouldn’t allow me to work with the people I truly wanted to work with; people with complex health conditions and mobility struggles, who needed someone with patience to help them get their function back.

    Across my degree I have worked with people from a variety of backgrounds and abilities in my personal training business. I am a regular in the gym and enjoy various styles of dance in my spare time, and I started Olympic weightlifting in January of 2025. Following completion of my degree and subsequent registration with the HCPC and CSP, I’m excited to start working with Richard in the Heald Green community.
