Show your patients real NHS waiting times — on your own website
A free widget for clinic websites. Patients enter their postcode and see the current NHS wait for MSK physiotherapy in their area — NHS England's published figures, updated automatically each month.
This is it, working — try your postcode.
Why clinics add it
It makes the case for going private better than sales copy can
A patient weighing it up sees their local NHS wait while they're already on your website.
Zero upkeep
The figures refresh themselves when NHS England publish new data each month.
Nothing collected
Postcodes are used for the lookup and never stored. No cookies. No tracking of your visitors.
How it looks on your site
How long is the NHS wait in your area?
Your own page copy would sit here. Everything below is the widget.
NHS waiting times checker provided by MediMo.
It sits quietly on your page — white background, no branding takeover, just a small “Powered by MediMo” credit at the foot.
Where the numbers come from
Clinic owners get asked where a figure came from, so here is the whole of it.
The source
NHS England's published statistics — the Community Health Services waiting list return for community services such as MSK physiotherapy, podiatry and audiology, and the Referral to Treatment return for consultant-led specialties. Both are official national releases, used under the Open Government Licence v3.0. The counts, totals and reporting periods are imported exactly as published — we don't adjust or reweight them. The one figure we calculate ourselves is the headline median, because the NHS publishes counts per band rather than a median; how we derive it is described below.
What the headline figure means
It is the median time that people currently on the waiting list have already been waiting — not a forecast of how long a new referral will take. The NHS publishes counts in wide bands (nought to one week, one to two, two to four, and so on), so we find where the halfway point falls inside its band rather than lumping everyone in a band at its midpoint, which would badly overstate a typical wait. It is an estimate from published bands, and the widget says so.
The area it covers
Figures are reported per Integrated Care Board — the regional NHS body covering roughly a county. A postcode is matched to its ICB, so a visitor sees the picture for their region, not for one hospital or trust. Every clinic in an area therefore shows the same regional number.
How current it is
NHS England publish monthly, roughly two months after the period they describe, so the newest available figures are always a couple of months old. The widget prints the reporting period beneath the result, and we import each new release automatically — you do not need to do anything.
What it does not tell you
It is a regional waiting-list picture, not a promise about any individual patient. Urgent cases are seen sooner, some areas run separate pathways, and a person's own wait depends on their referral.
FAQs
- Is it really free?
- Yes. No account, no charge, no catch — and you don't need to be a MediMo clinic.
- What does MediMo get?
- The small credit line links to us. That's it.
- What is MediMo?
- We are a UK booking platform for private healthcare. Patients search by location and what they need, see real appointment availability across local clinics, and book and pay online. Clinics join free and pay commission only on bookings we send them — find out more here. The widget is free whether or not you ever list with us.
- Will it slow my website?
- No — it loads from our servers, after your page.
- What happens to my visitors' data?
- Nothing. We don't collect any, and postcodes aren't stored.
- Can I remove it later?
- Yes, just delete the snippet from your page.
- Do I need to be technical?
- No — if you can copy and paste, you can do this. Choose what you want to show in the "Get the code" section below and copy the code. Then paste it into your website using anything designed to take code: in WordPress that's a "Custom HTML" block, and most site builders (Wix, Squarespace) have an "Embed" or "Code" element — it won't work pasted into a normal text box, which is a mistake people can make. And honestly, if any of that sounded like a foreign language: use the "Email this to your web person" button instead. It gives them everything they need, and it's a two-minute job for them.
Get the code
Choose what visitors can see, then copy it — or send it straight to whoever looks after your website.
The email button opens your email app with the instructions and code already written, and copies them to your clipboard too — so you can paste into whatever you use.
The widget loads NHS waiting time data directly from our servers. We don't collect personal data from your visitors — postcodes are used only for the lookup and aren't stored.
