Fantastic experience. I’ve been receiving treatment from Sophie for a few weeks now and my quality of life has been turned around. Hugely knowledgeable and friendly staff. Very flexible appointment booking and quick but long lasting results in terms of the pain I was experiencing before. Thanks so much 🙏

Outstanding support for "tricky" backs! Dr Sophie Bell has been amazing - after over 40 years of back pain, her holistic approach and care has made a real difference to my life - making possible to continue to do the stuff I love without constant pain and discomfort. I recommend her highly if you want to resolve ongoing issues, even if you feel like you have "tried everything" and seen other chiropractors. Thank you much!

I have been seeing Dr Sophie for over a year now and my every day life has improved dramatically over that time frame. Easily the best decision I made last year to not only seek chiropractic help for support with my bodily aches, but also for finding such a great practice and practitioner to help improve my life. Would 100% recommend to anyone!

I’ve been seeing Sophie for just over a year now. I came in with a very stiff and painful lower back, that I’ve tried seeing different practitioners over the past 9 years for. I’ve been relatively pain free for the last few months with bi weekly appointments and an exercise regime designed by Sophie. I thought lower back pain was something I would always have to live with, however Sophie has proved me wrong. I would recommend anyone to see Sophie to help improve movement and quality of life. Thanks Sophie!

I have had treatment at BDC Health Chiropractor for sciatica since October 2024 because of regular shooting pain problems throughout my right leg. Harriet has been very helpful with her 20 minute sessions every few weeks and she also recommended daily exercises at home to treat the problem. Eventually, after some 9 months, the treatment has paid off and now the sciatica seems to have been eliminated. I am therefore very grateful for the treatment made and would recommend BDC to other people who have a sciatica problem.

  • Sophie Bell

Sophie graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic with a distinction in her masters degree. She has trained extensively for the past 4 years to ensure she can help patients get back to their optimum health. This can include helping to eliminate general aches and pains or aid recovery from injuries.

She has gained a special interest in helping patients live a more healthy, active lifestyle. She loves providing support and resources to help patients improve factors like diet, exercise, sleep and mental health which can all contribute to pain. Sophie also enjoys helping patients get back into activities their pain has once prevented them from taking part in. One of Sophie’s favourite aspects of her job is teaching patients the interesting science behind pain, in order to help them understand why they feel the pain they do.

Sophie has also developed a special interest in treating pregnant patients and helping them manage any pain or discomfort that may arise while their body is undergoing pregnancy related changes. Therefore, she has completed further education in treating pregnant patients, particularly regarding pregnancy related back and pelvic pain

Outside of the clinic Sophie loves reading, hiking and cooking. She is new to Manchester and has been enjoying exploring the city, including trying out new cafes and restaurants. She also loves live music and going to concerts.

Sophie’s registered professional bodies are: the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and the British Chiropractic Association (BCA).

  • Harriet Shepherd

Harriet graduated with her combined masters degree in chiropractic from London South Bank University, adding to her other qualifications in personal training where she has worked as a
strength, flexibility and rehab specialist for 5+ years.

In the years since graduating, she has greatly enjoyed helping a wide range of people go from
pain to improved function, confidence and simply feeling like themselves again through
    chiropractic care.

Harriet takes a holistic, patient-centered approach to her treatments. Through her studies and experience, she has come to understand that the body has a huge capacity for adaptation and
healing, and no one should be left feeling defeated or powerless by their injuries. She naturally finds a lot of satisfaction guiding people back to the physical demands of their daily activities with the appropriate techniques and treatments in clinic, in addition to individualised
rehabilitation exercises and lifestyle advice that people can work into their routines for better
    long term outcomes.

Outside of the clinic Harriet enjoys climbing, running and competing in various street lifting and strongman competitions throughout the year. She likes to balance all of this activity with learning new, absurdly complicated and delicious recipes from her Italian in-laws and hanging out with the many adorable foster kittens that regularly take over her house!

    British Chiropractic Association (BCA).
