I have had treatment at BDC Health Chiropractor for sciatica since October 2024 because of regular shooting pain problems throughout my right leg. Harriet has been very helpful with her 20 minute sessions every few weeks and she also recommended daily exercises at home to treat the problem. Eventually, after some 9 months, the treatment has paid off and now the sciatica seems to have been eliminated. I am therefore very grateful for the treatment made and would recommend BDC to other people who have a sciatica problem.

I recently booked in to see Hadiya for a sports massage after suffering with tension in what I thought was my lower back. After my consultation and starting the massage it turned out my shoulders were carrying the weight of the issues contributing to my aching back. She relieved what felt like years of shoulder tension, alleviating my back pain and easing the movement I was struggling with in my neck. The best massage I have ever had. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Hadiya to anyone.

I have been attending BDC for over 2 years. I have had a positive outcome since attending my regular appointments and will continue. Sophie and the team are very professional, helpful and friendly. Emails and queries are responded to promptly and the site is a clean, tidy and calming environment. Would highly recommend.

Sophie is brilliant - she has helped me over the last year to keep injury free, recover from a fall and repeating muscle spasms which have not since returned fully. She remembers everything from appointment to appointment and makes each appointment enjoyable despite the elbows! I have no reservations recommending Sophie and the team.

I first came to BDC in July 2023 with problems stemming from a trapped nerve in my neck. Over the last 21 months the team have treated my chronic neck and shoulder tightness. I know visit Harriet every 4 weeks for maintenance sessions, which really helps combat the stresses and strains of desk based working and parenting! Harriet has a fantastic manner, is friendly and effective. I would not hesitate to recommend! I really look forward to my sessions and know that it is helping me remain pain free!

  • Sophie Bell

Sophie graduated from the Welsh Institute of Chiropractic with a distinction in her masters degree. She has trained extensively for the past 4 years to ensure she can help patients get back to their optimum health. This can include helping to eliminate general aches and pains or aid recovery from injuries.

She has gained a special interest in helping patients live a more healthy, active lifestyle. She loves providing support and resources to help patients improve factors like diet, exercise, sleep and mental health which can all contribute to pain. Sophie also enjoys helping patients get back into activities their pain has once prevented them from taking part in. One of Sophie’s favourite aspects of her job is teaching patients the interesting science behind pain, in order to help them understand why they feel the pain they do.

Sophie has also developed a special interest in treating pregnant patients and helping them manage any pain or discomfort that may arise while their body is undergoing pregnancy related changes. Therefore, she has completed further education in treating pregnant patients, particularly regarding pregnancy related back and pelvic pain

Outside of the clinic Sophie loves reading, hiking and cooking. She is new to Manchester and has been enjoying exploring the city, including trying out new cafes and restaurants. She also loves live music and going to concerts.

Sophie’s registered professional bodies are: the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and the British Chiropractic Association (BCA).

  • Harriet Shepherd

Harriet graduated with her combined masters degree in chiropractic from London South Bank University, adding to her other qualifications in personal training where she has worked as a
strength, flexibility and rehab specialist for 5+ years.

In the years since graduating, she has greatly enjoyed helping a wide range of people go from
pain to improved function, confidence and simply feeling like themselves again through
    chiropractic care.

Harriet takes a holistic, patient-centered approach to her treatments. Through her studies and experience, she has come to understand that the body has a huge capacity for adaptation and
healing, and no one should be left feeling defeated or powerless by their injuries. She naturally finds a lot of satisfaction guiding people back to the physical demands of their daily activities with the appropriate techniques and treatments in clinic, in addition to individualised
rehabilitation exercises and lifestyle advice that people can work into their routines for better
    long term outcomes.

Outside of the clinic Harriet enjoys climbing, running and competing in various street lifting and strongman competitions throughout the year. She likes to balance all of this activity with learning new, absurdly complicated and delicious recipes from her Italian in-laws and hanging out with the many adorable foster kittens that regularly take over her house!

Harriet's registered professional bodies are: the General Chiropractic Council (GCC) and the
    British Chiropractic Association (BCA).
