  • Mike Hutchison, Osteopath at Chester Osteo and Physio

    Mike Hutchison

    Osteopath · GOsC registered · 10628

Mike holds a Master’s degree from the European School of Osteopathy (ESO). He began his career in private practice before moving to London to work in the NHS, where he gained broad experience in musculoskeletal care within GP surgeries, managing conditions ranging from back pain to post-operative rehabilitation of knees, hips, and shoulders.

His growing interest in complex spinal pain led him to specialise in spinal care, securing a role in Somerset as an Enhanced Practice Practitioner in spines. There, he supported patients with persistent spinal and chronic pain using a person-centred, cognitive functional approach, while working closely with orthopaedic spinal physiotherapists for cases requiring invasive interventions such as spinal injections or surgery.

Mike has pursued further Master’s-level study focused on deepening his expertise in managing persistent pain. He is passionate about helping people in pain return to the activities they value, using a tailored, evidence-based approach built on years of clinical experience.

Mike can be seen for all pain problems but has a specialist interest in back pain, neck pain, sciatica and arthritis treatment. In addition to his private work, Mike works in the NHS as a Musculoskeletal Clinical Specialist across GP surgeries in Cheshire.

    Philippine Tauvel

    Osteopath · GOsC registered · 9515

Philippine holds a Master’s degree from the European School of Osteopathy (ESO), Kent, England and a comprehensive Polestar Pilates Diploma that she completed under guidance from industry leaders in Paris. She is a caring and empathetic Osteopath with over a decade of experience spanning across private care, physio led pilates and NHS outpatients.

A background in classical guitar, athletics and dancing contribute to her understanding of the demands on the body from our own individual lives and passions, and the need to restore our ability to do what we love with confidence.

Her goal is to make patients feel heard and seen with their pain, reassured by a clinical diagnosis and empowered with a treatment plan using the patient’s preference in her approach. A session typically involves case history taking, examination, manual therapy and exercise guidance.

I visited Chester Osteo and Physio after a quick initial chat with Philippine regarding some numbness in my fingers and toes following a back injury. After thoroughly assessing the issue and ruling out any red flags, she guided me through a targeted home exercise routine to strengthen my core. Those exercises have put me firmly back on track toward getting fit and strong in the gym again. While I’m not quite at 100% just yet, I know that with a bit of perseverance (and sticking to my assigned stretches and holds!), I’ll be back to peak form in no time. Huge thanks Philippine for her listening and the fantastic guidance!
