Team

  • Charlie Jones

The Local Physio was founded by Charlie in 2023. Initially he started working privately from various locations around Lincoln, alongside full time employment, before taking the plunge and setting up his own space – something he had dreamt of for many years.

Charlie qualified as a Physiotherapist in 2017 and has since spent a good proportion of his waking life helping people who are injured or in pain. He has worked predominantly in Musculoskeletal clinics, as well as on an Orthopaedic ward, within GP practices in Primary care, and more recently working within an MSK and Spinal Team as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner.
Charlie has a particular interest in helping people with back pain, knee injuries and with post operative rehabilitation.
Outside of work you might find Charlie spending time with his young family, walking his dog, going for a run or when he gets time – playing padel or football.

    Qualifications:
    – Bachelor of Science Degree in Physiotherapy from Salford University.
    – Masters Degree in Advancing Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from University of Nottingham.

I decided to visit a physio following some aches and pains after my first half marathon. Several weeks later and Lewis has me on a disciplined training plan and I’m already feeling the benefits. Lewis genuinely cares and is invested in not only my recovery but my future ability to get even stronger at running.

Charlie was professional, kind and really put my son at ease during his first physiotherapy session. He took time to explain everything clearly and was so helpful and reassuring. Excellent experience, thank you.

After a few failed attempts at fixing my Achilles problem elsewhere I’m finally seeing progress with it thanks to Charlie, professional and to the point and an all round great person. Confident he will get me fully fit again soon!

Charlie has worked wonders for me while training for my first marathon earlier on this year. From a popped groin to a IT band issue Charlie has got me through all of the little issues you get when training for a marathon. The advice on recovery and strength training has become a mainstay in my training routine for my next marathon. From the 2 weekly rub downs to the emergency text messages saying something doesn’t feel right, Charlie has always made time for me to get me back on the road. I can’t recommend the local physio team enough.

Brilliant advice and exercise plan from Charlie J. Got a complex bucket handle meniscus tear and acl tear in the knee, been struggling for weeks to activate the right muscles and perform the exercises in the effective way so my everyday life becomes easier. The short but effective program (delivered via app) does work. The knee feels stronger even if I still need to do arthroscopy on the torn meniscus it's super important to prehab as much as possible. Look forward to working further on strengthening my body with you!
